The Korean Hunter Association has recently kicked off an exciting new event on Jeju Island. The giant ants from Solo Leveling serve as a massive threat for the Korean Hunters, prompting them to seek assistance from Hunters around the world.
Fortunately, the Japanese Hunter Association has come to the rescue, and this time, South Korea has a chance to win in the battle against the giant ant species. With a relatively straightforward plan, the Japanese Hunters will focus on defeating the giant ants while the South Korean Hunters will aim to eliminate the Queen Ant. Everything is set to proceed according to plan until the Ant King appears, which has already taken down many of the top-tier South Korean Hunters in a single strike.
The Ant King Decimates Many South Korean Hunters on Jeju Island
The Ant King is significantly stronger than the Queen Ant, a fact that is evident through its ability to eliminate numerous South Korean Hunters without breaking a sweat. Initially, the Ant King targeted the Japanese Hunters who were already engaged in battle outside. However, despite the apparent strength of the South Korean Hunters, they could not perceive the Ant King’s overwhelming presence. The Ant King clearly enjoys hunting Japanese Hunters but has shifted its focus to South Korean Hunters after the demise of the Queen Ant.
Before Cha Hae-In’s final strike, the Queen Ant sent out her offspring, including the Ant King. Since the Ant King was only recently born, no one had any knowledge of its existence. Regardless of the circumstances, the Hunters were on the island and had no way to escape the impending doom of the Ant King.
Cha Hae-In made everyone gasp as she struck the critical point on the Queen Ant’s body, ultimately leading to her demise. However, her heroic actions meant that she became the primary target for the Ant King among the South Korean Hunters. It swiftly moved through the other Hunters and targeted Cha Hae-In, who could only raise a finger to defend against the impending attack.

Cha Hae-In became vulnerable immediately after the strike, prompting the Ant King to shift its focus to other South Korean Hunters. Baek Yoonho, Choi Jong-In, Ma Dongwook, and Lim Tae-Gyu had all engaged in combat with the Ant King, yet even their combined strength seemed futile. At this moment, the only thing keeping the Hunters alive was the support from Min Byung-Gyu.
Min Byung-Gyu had participated in the Jeju Island raid prior to this event, and he had witnessed the terrifying death of one of his companions. As a result, when Baek Yoonho invited him to join the raid, Byung-Gyu initially declined. He even expressed to Yoonho that he was ready to change careers. However, in the end, Byung-Gyu changed his mind and decided to join his friends on Jeju Island once more.

Min Byung-Gyu was still waiting for the other Hunters while utilizing his unique skills to avoid the Ant King’s attention. However, the Ant King quickly sensed his presence and immediately targeted him. As Byung-Gyu desperately attempted to escape while ensuring Yoonho’s safety, the Ant King had already set its sights on him.
Min Byung-Gyu is a boy with a strong sense of justice and genuine concern for others. His very nature led him to participate in the raid. While the experience of facing the Ant King was terrifying, it made him more humane than the other Hunters. This is why his death was the most shocking and emotional moment throughout the entire series.
The Ant King then faces off against Goto Ryuji

After Min Byung-Gyu’s death, the Ant King taunted Baek Yoonho, claiming that he was too weak. It reminded Yoonho of the King of Hunters, as it believed there was a true King among the Hunters, and he could potentially be the strongest warrior among them. Before Yoonho could respond, the Ant King had already perceived the presence of Goto Ryuji, recognized as the most powerful Hunter on the island at that time.
After recognizing this, the Ant King turned its attention to the South Korean Hunters and charged into battle with Goto. Goto was indeed very powerful; he was regarded as the deadliest living weapon in Japan without a doubt. However, even Goto realized that the Ant King was simply too strong for him, resulting in his defeat.
The battle with Goto only left the Ant King feeling frustrated, but fortunately, Jinwoo eventually made his way to the battlefield.
