A “Flood Report” on 150 Million from a Grandmother to Recharge Games
Recently, troubling news has emerged regarding a mobile game in China that has caused significant distress. Specifically, a grandmother reportedly lost a total of 43,000 yuan (over 150 million VND) – all the savings she had to recharge games and shop online.

According to Sohu, on March 3rd, a grandmother in Zhuhai, Guangdong, accompanied by her grandson, went to the police station in a state of panic. After investigating, it turned out that the young boy exhibited unusual spending behavior, and the grandmother discovered that her savings account had been excessively drained without her knowledge. In total, this 150 million yuan was “flooded” within just one month. Remarkably, over 70 million yuan was used to recharge in the game “Honor of Kings,” with 11 recharge instances, each at least 3 million yuan within just one week. The remaining money was used for online shopping.
However, this incident is not the only concerning behavior associated with this “flood report”…
Additionally, the young boy was also seen purchasing numerous new mobile phones, even buying three at the same time and gifting two to his friends. It was only when the grandmother discovered the situation that the boy realized the severity of the issue.
This case highlights a serious situation, prompting local police to quickly contact the customer service department of Tencent, providing them with evidence of identity, transaction logs, and the family’s financial status. Fortunately, just two days after the incident, Tencent assisted in refunding 70 million yuan to the grandmother. Additionally, police also reached out to the parents of the two friends who had been gifted phones. Upon learning about the family’s difficult financial situation, they agreed to return the gifted money.

This incident underscores the importance of financial management within families and the need for education regarding spending habits, especially among the younger generation. It is hoped that in the future, such unfortunate events will not recur.
