According to Lao Dong Newspaper, on March 31, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet – Chief of the Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, announced that the Ministry has assigned the Department of Broadcasting and Television to gather information and provide details to the press regarding the relationship of streamer ViruSs.

Recently, the romantic relationship of ViruSs, Ngọc Kem, and other influencers has ignited a series of dramatic events on social media.
On March 18, just a day after being suspected of infidelity, ViruSs publicly acknowledged some information that many people were curious about, although he did not admit to making any mistakes.
By March 20, Ngọc Kem went live, revealing various details about her relationship with ViruSs. “I feel very hurt and humiliated to have to say this. But he didn’t just date one person, there were many other girls. I know exactly who each of them is,” Ngọc Kem stated during the livestream.
Following that, both continued to engage in several live sessions, “exposing each other” to entertain their viewers and to dampen anti-fans’ spirits. Regarding the situation, ViruSs fully acknowledged it. The male streamer said: “The story about having children is not accurate. I speak honestly with everyone; I really like children. I love and want to have children, but I don’t have any.” ViruSs also clarified the source of the rumors based on personal information sent to him to relieve the burden on his mother.

Not only ViruSs and Ngọc Kem, but the drama also involved many other names that added to the buzz. Accordingly, a quick response from the artist Pháo led to the release of a new song amidst the chaos, addressing the emotional wounds and backlash. Without naming anyone specifically, listeners could easily understand the implication. The catchy tune quickly went viral on TikTok and topped the trending charts within a few days.
After that, Emma Nhat Khanh – another character indirectly involved in the story – also did not remain silent. She released a demo of a new song and participated in several engaging livestreams, skillfully making her presence felt amidst the drama.

On March 29, ViruSs and Ngọc Kem publicly apologized, closing the chapter on the controversy that had stirred up social media. However, looking back at the entire situation, it was evident that ViruSs, Ngọc Kem, and the other influencers were not entirely defeated in this media battle. Although labeled negatively, they still garnered attention, views, and, significantly, “earned” financial benefits from the situation. Many viewers, including those who unintentionally became part of the drama, continued to engage with each livestream, each shared post, and each emotional moment – effectively becoming the audience for what could be called a “drama phenomenon” that captured public sentiment.
There is a clear dichotomy emerging: those involved are benefiting from the drama, while those outside are left feeling like “emotional trash,” dragged into the drama minute by minute. And as the relentless cycle of drama continues, the online space, no longer a sanctuary for privacy, has become a battleground where everyone is fair game, making the audience – those who like, share, and comment – the first to feel the impact.
