Dungeonborne: A Noteworthy Name in the Survival Game Genre
Dungeonborne has quickly gained recognition in the survival game genre, particularly since its early access launch in July 2024. The game hit a peak concurrent player count of nearly 40,000 on Steam, an impressive feat, even surpassing popular titles like Frostpunk, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Hell Let Loose. Given this strong start, it is undeniable that Dungeonborne achieved early success.

However, just a year later, this game has faded into obscurity despite its initial launch hype.
Currently, the number of players in Dungeonborne is limited to just a handful, typically around 6 players. Over the past 30 days, the peak concurrent player count has only reached 36. Once viewed as a potential competitor to Dark and Darker, Dungeonborne has since been removed from Steam, and its servers are also set to shut down soon.

As of February 28, players can no longer access Dungeonborne on Steam or create new accounts. However, those who own the game will still be able to experience it for a few more months. By May 28, the servers will officially cease operations, meaning that gameplay will be entirely removed from the platform. The next update for Dungeonborne is slated for September 2024, while the game remains in Early Access (early access available).

Currently, Dungeonborne holds a “mixed” rating on Steam, but if we consider the recent period, the reviews have been predominantly negative. Players have raised concerns about issues such as poor balance, overly strong characters, slow update rates, lack of new content, and insufficient communication from the development team, which has further diminished community trust. Despite its promising start, Dungeonborne ultimately could not sustain its development and has been largely forgotten. By May 28, this title will officially disappear from the gaming landscape.
