Faker Breaks Silence on Gumayusi – T1 Controversy
In the history of professional League of Legends (LoL), there are rarely any dramas that don’t end up causing prolonged discussions like the recent situation involving T1 – Gumayusi – Smash. Since the LCK Cup 2025 began, the situation has yet to show signs of resolution. Recently, further feedback from within T1 has stirred up even more excitement in the community. And this time, Faker has also had to speak up.

Specifically, during a recent stream, the T1 coach was asked a question regarding the internal conflicts among team members and the future of Gumayusi. Naturally, Faker responded in the most professional manner possible: “The fact is that teams often argue after losing a match because everyone wants to win. The debates are natural and are meant to strengthen the team’s unity and pursuit of victory. As for Min-hyung (Gumayusi) being replaced in the next match, I do not have any information regarding that.”

This could be seen as one of the rare occasions Faker has shared about the ongoing dramas involving T1. He is also the only member of the team to publicly address the situation following the controversies surrounding T1’s management of Gumayusi.
What’s at Stake for T1 in the Upcoming Matches?
This week, T1 will face off against KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports. Both opponents are fully capable of posing challenges for Faker and the team. KT may currently be struggling with two consecutive losses, but they often surprise and challenge teams that underestimate them. Meanwhile, HLE is currently a title contender in the LCK.

The decision regarding T1’s roster at this critical moment will significantly impact the outcomes of these two matches and subsequently their chances to qualify for MSI 2025. However, there are still ongoing dramas and responses from the management in the future. T1 needs to proceed with caution before making any decisions that could further complicate matters following the recent controversies.
