T1 Gains Attention for Gumayusi in EWC 2024 Clip, But Fans Are Even More Upset
As previously noted, T1 recently cut a significant scene from the EWC 2024 montage featuring Gumayusi. He was indeed the standout player for T1 in this tournament, contributing significantly to T1’s victory over BLG. Moreover, Gumayusi was seen as the epitome of Fearless Draft as he utilized 10 different champions across the matches in EWC 2024.

Recently, T1 had to re-upload this clip, including all members, especially Gumayusi. However, the explanation following the clip’s removal was that the editorial team had made a significant oversight regarding the content and visuals.

Overall, everyone understands that media products need to go through multiple levels of scrutiny before being released to avoid any possible errors. However, the clip was still uploaded to YouTube, and T1 had to deal with the backlash nearly a day later. In fact, there were many comments regarding the overwhelming dislike (with over 10k dislikes recorded on February 14) and numerous critical comments, leaving no one knowing if T1 had indeed corrected and re-uploaded the clip.
Moreover, with the fact that the players have always been under public scrutiny, the absence of Gumayusi should have been a matter of concern from the start. Currently, the product was rendered as a complete clip and uploaded online. One could say that T1’s apology was merely a formality.

Gumayusi and T1 Fan Reactions Still Ongoing
Although T1 has re-uploaded the clip with all four remaining members of the team after Zeus’s departure, the fan base is still largely divided over this incident. Meanwhile, the surrounding drama regarding Gumayusi remains unresolved. Furthermore, this situation could provide an additional reason for anti-fans to target Gumayusi, making the situation even more challenging in the future.
