In a recent video released by SNK, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo officially confirmed that he will be a playable character in the upcoming game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which has led many to speculate that he is merely a special guest character.
However, Ronaldo not only confirmed the news but also shared his excitement about making his debut in the gaming world game industry.

“I see this as a very unique experience,” Ronaldo shared, simultaneously expressing that his favorite aspect of the game character is the signature move “SIUUUU,” which embodies his famous celebration.
In the accompanying gameplay trailer, SNK introduced Ronaldo’s move set – including powerful kicks, expressive finishing moves, and even a dunk at the basketball hoop. Notably, the iconic “SIIIIUUU” celebration associated with CR7 is also featured as a special finishing move, making the audience erupt in excitement.

Despite the surprising announcement, Ronaldo’s appearance is not the first time SNK has integrated sports elements into their games. Previously, characters like Lucky Glauber, Brian Battler, and Heavy D! – representing “Team American Sports” in The King of Fighters – have showcased boxing, basketball, and baseball skills in the ring. In the Fatal Fury series, the character Michael Max was inspired by Mike Tyson, and Axel Hawk – his trainer – was a minor boss character in Fatal Fury 2. Besides Ronaldo, SNK also introduced DJ Salvatore Ganacci – a well-known artist recognized for his performances at Tomorrowland 2018 and 2019 – who will also be a playable character in City of the Wolves. Unlike Ronaldo’s strong sports personality, Ganacci brings a more musical and vibrant aesthetic, complete with colorful visuals.

With its unique and captivating gameplay featuring a star character, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is poised to become a major hit in the gaming industry in 2025. And if Cristiano Ronaldo calls it “very unique,” then players are sure to be in for an exciting experience.
