Just like his father, Sung Jin-Woo, Sung Suho also had to endure a rigorous experience to secure a profession within the system. However, there are some distinct differences in the career transition experiences between Jin-Woo and his son.
What are the differences in the career transition experiences of Jin-Woo and Suho?
1. Jin-Woo began with a standard profession, while Suho has a unique path

In Jin-Woo’s case, one could say this is his strong point. Jin-Woo received notifications from the system long before he even began his career, allowing him to be well-prepared before embarking on this journey. He even had the option to choose his starting point to avoid inconveniencing others.
In contrast, Suho’s career transition was quite abrupt, as he realized it while being overwhelmed by an intense raid from the Itarim Dungeon. The system had the chance to restore Suho’s initial state without causing any negative repercussions. If he made any slight mistakes, Suho could have perished before embarking on his new career.
2. Jin-Woo battles monsters, while Suho must fight against himself

In Jin-Woo’s scenario, he is battling against a formidable monster. He must face various golems and Igris, who is confronting him in the throne room. Not only that, but Jin-Woo also has to survive against these summoned golems while the monster is in a state of rampage in a very limited timeframe.
Suho’s situation is even more challenging as he has to battle against multiple versions of himself across different timelines. The version designated for his younger self can utilize Roulette Authority at the highest power level. The third version boasts powers that are frighteningly strong. Meanwhile, other versions might employ dual swords and the immense powers of the Shadow Monarch.
3. Jin-Woo’s role is Shadow Monarch, while Suho’s is Irregular White Shadow

The roles that these two father and son embody are quite different. Jin-Woo is immediately recognized as the Shadow Monarch due to the system’s understanding of his potential to develop a powerful artifact for Ashborn, who was once a human. Despite facing a critical point, Jin-Woo is determined to take on the next career as a hunter.
On the other hand, Suho’s case is quite unique. Instead of having a naturally existing unique power like his father, Suho has to combine various abilities to attain the new title of Irregular White Shadow, which allows him to create artifacts from the monsters he defeats.
Therefore, instead of battling as a singular commander like Jin-Woo, Suho has the potential to create artifacts.
4. Jin-Woo’s profession was defined from the start, while Suho had multiple options

In Jin-Woo’s situation, he no longer has any other choices because the only option he can pursue is to be the Shadow Monarch. Even when he was at the brink, Jin-Woo knew he would eventually be promoted to the elite Hunter class. Thus, Jin-Woo has no other choice but to become the Shadow Monarch.
In contrast, Suho is presented with the opportunity to choose from various professions such as the Dark Knight, which allows him to become a Shadow Monarch, or the Soul Striker, which enables him to become a warrior like Baek Yoonho, and other unnamed professions. Yet, Suho has embraced every path and transformed himself into the Irregular White Shadow.
