Since its launch in September 2020, Genshin Impact has quickly become one of the most popular gacha games worldwide.
The resounding success of Genshin Impact has paved the way for many other titles from HoYoverse, such as Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. With an ever-expanding roster of characters, engaging gameplay mechanics, and a vast world to explore, the game continues to attract a large global player base. Even after more than two years, the game maintains a dedicated community of players who are actively engaged.

According to the latest statistics, as of April 2025, Genshin Impact has an average of around 58 million players in the last 30 days, as reported by ActivePlayer. This number shows a decline compared to the 59 million players from the previous month.
Data also indicates that over the past three years (2023, 2024, and 2025), Genshin Impact has consistently had more than 50 million daily active users. In 2024, the game maintained over 60 million monthly active users, only seeing a dip during the summer. As we move into 2025, the player count has begun to decline but has yet to drop below the 60 million mark, with the highest figure reaching over 59 million in February 2025.

When compared to other gacha titles, Genshin Impact still holds a significant daily player count. Honkai: Star Rail currently has about 20 million monthly active users, a number that is notably lower than Genshin Impact. Solo Leveling: Arise, one of the most talked-about gacha games released in 2024, also does not come close to Genshin Impact in player numbers. Meanwhile, another title, Girls’ Frontline: Exilium 2, reportedly only had an average of 833 players in the last 30 days, according to SteamDB. This stark contrast highlights that despite the emergence of many new gacha games, Genshin Impact remains the dominant “giant” in the industry.

At present, Genshin Impact shows no signs of declining popularity. HoYoverse continues to update the game with new content, introducing exciting new regions, engaging storylines, and increasingly diverse characters. Regular updates are a key factor in keeping players invested and engaged, even as numerous other gacha titles emerge.
