GAM’s Recent Victory Leaves the VCS Community Unsatisfied
Recently, GAM Esports and Team SecretWhales faced off in a match during the LCP 2025 Mid Season tournament. However, the match outcome sparked significant discussion among fans of the VCS, as it raised concerns about the state of League of Legends in Vietnam. Although the two teams concluded the match with a close score (2-1 in favor of GAM), there were underlying issues that contributed to the dissatisfaction among fans.

It appears that GAM’s players did not perform at their highest level during the match, particularly when compared to their usual standards. On the other hand, TSW made several mistakes that were even more noticeable. Specifically, in crucial moments of the game, if TSW had avoided certain errors, such as mismanaging the early game and the contested Atakhan, GAM might have faced a tougher challenge.
Moreover, even GAM’s own fans were puzzled as to why their team was able to win. If the blame is solely placed on macro mistakes or miscommunication during skirmishes, it could be seen as a result of “max ping” situations. However, GAM’s errors stemmed largely from individual decision-making issues.

In fact, these mistakes from GAM seem to echo their performance throughout the early stages of the LCP 2025 season. This team has struggled against top-level teams from Japan and Australia. Furthermore, GAM has lost against all VCS teams, including both names in the LCP. However, what is most concerning is that GAM’s performances do not align with the expectations of their loyal fan base in the Vietnamese League of Legends community.
Many Fans Worry About the Future of GAM and VCS
As a team that has consistently been a strong contender in the VCS on the international stage, GAM’s recent performances have been difficult to digest. After a long break, even following their match against TSW, GAM has not shown significant improvement compared to their earlier matches this year. Meanwhile, CFO and TALON have been performing quite well. TALON remains a dangerous opponent, and they have pushed CFO to deliver strong BO3 performances on the battlefield.

If GAM continues to underperform, the likelihood of them becoming “a legend” again seems quite low, especially since there have been no substantial changes in personnel that could inspire renewed confidence during this transitional period.
