In Steel Seed, players will take on the role of Zoe – a female warrior equipped with advanced technology armor, who is determined to uncover the chilling fate of her missing father alongside her companion, the flying robot Koby. With a post-apocalyptic setting and the ability to utilize stealth tactics, your mission is to explore the treacherous underground facilities while searching for clues that may lead you to your father.
According to the developers, Zoe’s design and abilities are inspired by the manga Blame! as well as the iconic film RoboCop – influences that are clearly reflected in the game’s visual details and character movements.
Players will navigate through the game’s challenges using a combination of agile movement skills – such as parkour, climbing walls, or dodging obstacles reminiscent of the Uncharted series – while also engaging in combat that blends hack-and-slash mechanics with tactical elements similar to soulslike games. The game’s environmental interactions play a crucial role, allowing players to utilize Koby to distract enemies or sneak past them effectively.
Beyond the familiar third-person 3D perspective, Steel Seed also creatively shifts to a 2D view in certain segments to enhance the gaming experience, particularly in combat sequences or while engaging with unique environmental puzzles.
