The Official Release Date for Dune Awakening Has Been Announced: Funcom is Preparing for the Largest Beta Test Yet for This Exciting Survival MMO Set in the Iconic Dune Universe

According to reports, developer Funcom has confirmed that the next beta test will take place from May 9 to May 12, opening up opportunities for thousands of players around the globe.
This event will not only introduce the initial gameplay but will also cover a significant portion of Act 1 in the main storyline of Dune Awakening. According to the developers, this will be one of the largest-scale beta tests ever conducted. Players will be able to explore areas such as the Hagga Basin South, Eastern Vermilius Gap, and Western Vermilius Gap—distinctive locations on the desert planet of Arrakis. Here, players can familiarize themselves with the real-time combat system, pilot sandbikes, and construct buildings using the CHOAM tile set.
Funcom estimates that players will have the opportunity to experience around 20–25 hours of content, allowing them to deeply explore the early and middle sections of the game, providing a clearer perspective on the Dune Awakening universe. Notably, there will be no non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in place—meaning players will be free to livestream, share videos, and publicly discuss their experiences. In addition to directly registering for the beta via the game’s Steam page, Funcom will also host a special livestream event called Dune Awakening Global LAN Party on May 10. During this event, thousands of beta keys will be distributed to viewers.
