Amazon to Launch Blue Protocol: Star Resonance in August 2024, a Promising MMO Project
However, unexpectedly, this game title has been revived under a completely new banner called Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, and notably, the release date is approaching sooner than anticipated.

Initially, Blue Protocol was developed by Bandai Namco and distributed by Amazon. The game is introduced as an adventure in a vibrant anime-inspired world, with an emphasis on immersive storytelling.
Despite its great potential, the project surprisingly faced a halt in its global release around mid-2024, coinciding with Bandai’s announcement to cease operations in Japan by early 2025. This seems to be a definitive setback, but alongside the core development process, an external version codenamed Project Sky Blue has been secretly in development. This project is essentially Blue Protocol: Star Resonance—a title that embodies the spirit of classic action RPGs while introducing a fresh gameplay direction.

Star Resonance will still take place in Regnas—a familiar setting from Blue Protocol—but it will also feature a completely rewritten storyline, providing an experience that captures the essence of modern MMORPGs. Players will journey through beautifully crafted landscapes, engage with dynamic environments, and collaborate with friends to tackle large-scale challenges reminiscent of those in Final Fantasy XIV. The gameplay also enhances customization options with a diverse range of new character classes including: Heavy Guardian, Stormblade, Wind Knight, Marksman, Frost Mage, Verdant Oracle, and Shield Knight—each class boasting unique skills and armor types. While it remains unclear whether the Twin Striker class will return, the development team has indicated that many more classes will be added later.

Though the official launch date has not yet been announced, Shanghai Bokura Network Technology confirms that Blue Protocol: Star Resonance will officially debut in 2025. Players can currently add the game to their wish list to receive notifications as soon as it opens for play.
