The Latest Insights on the Character Dahlia in Genshin Impact Version 5.7
Dahlia, the new character introduced in Genshin Impact Version 5.7, has garnered attention recently. While players are excited about her powerful abilities, there are concerns that these changes may not adequately address the character’s potential, leading to a “missed opportunity” upon her official release.
Previously, HoYoverse hinted that Dahlia would become a playable character in the 5.7 update through various articles following her debut as a non-playable character (NPC) during the Archon mission in Version 5.6. Although it is known that Dahlia hails from Mondstadt, many details about her abilities remain intriguing and warrant further exploration.

Current Insights on Dahlia in Genshin Impact
Dahlia is set to be a 4-star character who wields a sword and focuses on creating shields for her allies. Her unique ability allows her shields to regenerate a few times after being destroyed, creating a continuous defensive benefit. However, recent leaks suggest that Dahlia’s Elemental Burst has received a buff, which remains to be seen. The primary drawback of this character lies in the low durability of her shields. Despite her capacity to regenerate shields immediately after destruction, the absorption capacity of these shields is quite low, making them ineffective in protecting against significant damage.

In addition to her shield creation abilities, Dahlia can also increase attack speed for her allies through her Burst. However, according to leaks, every 1,000 Energy Points only increases attack speed by 0.4%, with a maximum cap of 15%—a rather conservative figure. Although there are rumors circulating that this stat may be increased to 20%, it still lags behind Mika, a 4-star character whose skills can buff attack speed by 22%. Given the current inefficacy of support abilities, Dahlia risks becoming a “disappointment,” especially when compared to Mika, who is regarded as one of the top-tier support characters in gameplay.

To become a viable character, Dahlia requires stronger buffs, especially concerning shield absorption. If her current abilities remain unchanged, building a character centered around low Energy Points will likely prove ineffective, as the initial investment does not yield adequate value. Furthermore, her attack speed buff needs to be increased to at least 30% to allow Dahlia to compete in high-damage environments, particularly against characters like Skirk. It’s essential to note that all information provided is based on beta testing, and the character’s abilities may undergo changes upon the official release in Genshin Impact 5.7.
