Epic Games Store Officially Announces Two New Free Games for Next Week in Their Weekly Giveaway Program
The titles are Deathloop and Ogu and the Secret Forest. Players can claim both games for free from June 5 to June 12. This also marks the end of the “hidden games” series that has been running throughout May, opening a new chapter with clearer release schedules.

The price of Deathloop on Steam is currently 1.35 million VND, while Ogu and the Secret Forest is priced at over 300,000 VND. In total, the combined value of the games in this week’s Epic Games Store giveaway reaches nearly 1.7 million VND.
Developed by Arkane Lyon – the studio renowned for the Dishonored series – Deathloop is a first-person shooter that was first released in 2021, originally as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. The game revolves around the character Colt, an assassin trapped in a time loop on the mysterious Blackreef Island. Players must explore, utilize information and skills through each time loop to eliminate eight specific targets in a single day – if they fail, they start over from the beginning. On the OpenCritic aggregate platform, Deathloop has an average score of 88/100, with a percentage of reviews rated as “positive” reaching 92%. The game was honored as one of the best games of 2021 on PS5.

In stark contrast to the intense atmosphere of Deathloop, Ogu and the Secret Forest is a charming 2D adventure game developed by the studios Moonlab and Sinkhole Studio. Players assume the role of Ogu, an adorable creature, embarking on a journey to explore a mysterious forest, collect items, solve puzzles, and interact with quirky NPCs. Although it’s not heavily marketed, Ogu and the Secret Forest has garnered positive feedback from the gaming community. According to SteamDB, shortly after its PC release in summer 2024, the game hit 1,070 concurrent players – a promising figure for an indie title. Currently, the game holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with over 1,500 user reviews, reflecting the community’s fondness for its unique art style, simple yet engaging gameplay, and emotionally rich storytelling.

While it’s still unclear whether EGS will continue to offer two new games each week as it has throughout the past month, the announcement of these titles is a positive sign for users. Although only one title has been revealed for next week, there’s no need to worry as Epic continues its tradition of “double giveaways,” especially during the summer season – the most vibrant period of the year for the gaming market – is just beginning.
