Etheria: Restart Causes Major Disappointment
Etheria: Restart has been hailed as one of the most anticipated role-playing games set to launch early in 2025. From the outset of its Closed Beta Test (January 9 – 20), the game has garnered attention with its unique anime art style, captivating graphics, and engaging turn-based combat gameplay combined with an enticing gacha mechanic. Developed by X.D. Network – the studio known for high-quality titles like Muse Dash and Moncage – it’s not surprising that this game quickly captured the interest of players worldwide.

However, just one day after its official global launch, Etheria: Restart has left many Vietnamese players feeling disheartened. There are several reasons contributing to this disappointment. Notably, the game lacks support for the Vietnamese language, despite being available to international audiences. Many players in Vietnam have had to resort to “workarounds” to access the game, resulting in an experience that did not meet their expectations after just one day of gameplay.
Lag, Eye Strain, Gacha “Bloodsucking”… and a Reality Check on User Experience
A wave of negative feedback has quickly emerged across various forums and social media platforms. Many players have commented on the subpar quality of the game, noting that “the graphics are quite decent, but compared to popular turn-based gacha games like Honkai: Star Rail, it falls short,” as one user remarked. The most alarming issue reported is the sensation of “eye strain” when playing: “I had to log off after 30 minutes of gameplay.”

The animations during battles – although intended to create a visually appealing experience – have been criticized as “jittery and unrefined.” Several users have compared the game to Dislyte, claiming that Etheria: Restart lacks novelty and creativity, stating it feels “like a recycled concept from other games, only with different graphics.” Particularly concerning is the gacha system, which has been described as “bloodsucking,” with comments like “spinning over 80 times without getting the desired character.”

In summary, from a title that was highly anticipated, it appears Etheria: Restart is facing a rather rocky launch in the Vietnamese market. The lack of an official Vietnamese release, coupled with issues related to graphics, gameplay, and user experience, has led to a significant decline in player trust. Nevertheless, with the capacity for improvement and the potential for future development, there remains hope that Etheria: Restart will quickly enhance its offerings and regain players’ confidence.
