Intensifying Excitement with the First Trailer of ILL – A Unique Perspective First-Person Shooter (FPS) Combining Survival Horror, Has “Laid Low” for Many Years.
Recently, a new teaser has surfaced, stirring the gaming community as there is a strong possibility that this game will officially resurface at the upcoming Summer Game Fest (SGF).

In fact, this game was initially a major highlight of 2021. The first trailer of ILL surfaced almost 3 years ago and certainly left a lasting impression with its dark ambiance set in an abandoned apartment complex overrun by zombies.
The once-vibrant residents have now transformed into grotesque creatures, lurking to ambush. The player, wielding a double-barreled shotgun, must navigate through the murky remnants of life. With its meticulously detailed monster designs and an atmosphere thick with suspense, ILL feels like a crossover between Half-Life, Resident Evil, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. However, after a few minor updates and a brief trailer during the Future Games Show in 2022, ILL seemed to fade from the radar of the gaming community.

Everything began to change in October last year when Team Clout – the development team behind ILL – started dropping new teaser images. Since then, video clips and images have been updated more frequently. Recently, on May 1st, the team released a background score, said to be the official soundtrack for ILL. Just this past week, Team Clout unveiled an 8-second clip titled “Got a hunch?” featuring the main character running through a corridor, with the shadowy outline of a monstrous creature lurking in a dark corner. Additionally, there’s an image of three individuals holding a sign – reminiscent of communication systems often seen at airports or train stations.

On the forum, gamers have analyzed the semaphore signals in the clip and specifically noted the message “six” – indicating the number 6. Immediately after that, the teaser was shared by Geoff Keighley, the organizer of the Summer Game Fest. Interestingly, the Summer Game Fest 2025 is set to kick off this Friday, June 6th. Could this be a mere coincidence? The return of ILL, if realized, would be a thrilling development for the community of survival-horror game enthusiasts. With its atmospheric visuals, haunting sound design, and high-caliber monster design, ILL is poised to make a significant impact, standing alongside major titles like Resident Evil Village and The Callisto Protocol.
