Is the Bombastic Game a Resurrection of the Franchise?
After more than two years of absence, the game based on the anime brand dated Date A Live, officially returns with a new installment titled Date A Live: Spirit Echo. This is a remastered version of Date A Live: Spirit Pledge HD, which was initially launched back in 2023.
Date A Live: Spirit Echo is published by HK Adma Tech Limited and is an action role-playing game with immersive combat mechanics, combining characters and spirits from the anime series of the same name by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko. The gameplay this time has been promoted as high-paced action, integrating combo mechanics and emotionally charged interactions. From participating in battles to earning rewards to level up, everything is designed in a distinctive anime style. Players will also experience unique decorations and customizable enhancements for each character.
Ghostly Shadows from Past Experiences…
However, this exciting comeback also comes with some challenges, as this bombastic title is essentially the “ghost” of Date A Live: Spirit Pledge HD – a previously beloved product that was released just one year after its relaunch in June 2022. Although it received positive feedback for its content updates and enhancements, Spirit Pledge HD unexpectedly announced its closure on May 20, 2023, without any clear reasoning.
The Date A Live series has already built a loyal fanbase since its original release. Thus, the game’s revival is sure to attract many players back into the fold. This latest appearance of Date A Live can be viewed as a rehash of the previous title, hoping to reignite interest and draw in previous fans. However, players will definitely keep an eye on whether Date A Live: Spirit Echo can recapture the magic or merely serve as a “faded replica” of its predecessor.
Notably, this bombastic game is scheduled for an official release on iOS on July 30, 2025, with the Android version currently in the pipeline. As of now, the game is already available for pre-registration on the App Store, completely free of charge.
