Music Game Innovation from Tencent
Just Dance Party – a rhythm dancing game developed by Tencent, will officially enter the closed beta testing phase in China starting July 25. This game is also known as Okay Dance in the local market, serving as a spin-off of the globally popular dancing game series Just Dance, owned by Ubisoft.

If previously players had to invest in console devices like Wii or PlayStation to experience vibrant dance moves, now Tencent promises that players only need a smartphone to enjoy the game. The key feature of Just Dance Party is its ability to track real-time motion through the phone’s camera. Players can not only dance to the rhythm of the music but also earn points based on accuracy and energy levels while performing dance moves.

Additionally, the game features a calorie tracking system after each dance session – a functionality that many players appreciate due to its high utility for fitness training. Besides the main gameplay, Just Dance Party allows players to customize their avatars with various outfits, accessories, and expressive poses. From neon costumes to trendy hairstyles, everything contributes to creating a dazzling party atmosphere on the mobile screen.
Just Dance Party – A Major Boost for the Music Game Market
Announced for the first time at Tencent’s SPARK 2025 conference, Just Dance Party quickly attracted attention with its collaboration with major music brands to deliver a rich music library from Europe to Asia. This feature allows players to experience popular tracks from BTS, Taylor Swift, Jay Chou, BLACKPINK, and many other famous names directly within the game.

This closed beta version is officially titled “Dance Performance Test” – embodying the spirit that the game aims to capture: showcasing each individual’s energy through music. Registration is now open for Android and iOS users in China via an online questionnaire. Those who meet the criteria will receive a connection link via email.

Moreover, Tencent has not yet released any announcements regarding a global launch, but with the growing potential of the music game genre and the increasing popularity of dance games, it is highly likely that Just Dance Party will soon be available in other regions.
