Dragon Ball Daima has significantly shaken up the Dragon Ball franchise with its new episodes. This series is set to conclude its final episodes during the fall anime season of 2024 and will return in January with a new season of the series.
However, the series has wrapped up the year with one of the most significant revelations to date. Fans have gained a closer look at one of the biggest changes seen so far, featuring Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta. It turns out that Vegeta has been hiding his Super Saiyan 3 form right under Goku’s nose all this time.
Dragon Ball Daima Introduces Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta
Dragon Ball Daima continues the battle between Vegeta and Tamagami to keep the demons at bay. While Vegeta is preparing for yet another significant defeat against a formidable foe, the situation took an unexpected turn in episode 12. Vegeta unleashes his Super Saiyan 3 form and quickly ends the battle.
Here, the new design has been shared from a much more detailed perspective, showcasing character designs by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, which highlights the new look of Vegeta.

The Daima series takes place shortly after the events of the Majin Buu arc, which also means that Goku and Vegeta will not have any access to the divine forms seen in Dragon Ball Super. Therefore, Super Saiyan and its more powerful transformations will play a much more critical role.
With Goku taking a significant part in the battles up to now, we have seen him gradually reclaim his strength to the point where he could revert to Super Saiyan 3 before any major transitions. Thus, it is surprising to see Vegeta using this form for the first time, as we have never witnessed Vegeta wielding it in any of the classic Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Super series. Vegeta has seemingly passed this stage for some reason. Now, the circumstances have been distinctly portrayed in Daima.
Vegeta Using Super Saiyan 3 as a Game-Changing Transformation in Dragon Ball

Vegeta using Super Saiyan 3 is something that long-time fans have wanted to see since the early days of Dragon Ball Z. This is one of the most significant moments for Vegeta in the Dragon Ball franchise to date.
With the debut of Daima, it fills the gap between the Majin Buu arc and Battle of Gods, providing fans with insight into why Vegeta has never used Super Saiyan 3 before this point. It’s not that he has been unable to utilize it to bolster his strength, but rather because he has become adept at avoiding it and has not seen it as beneficial in typical battles.
Similar to how Goku uses his Super Saiyan 3 form, it doesn’t make sense when discussing the use of Ki to regain power during battles, but in this context, Vegeta no longer has any other choices aside from unleashing his full strength.
