Iron Man
When mentioning Iron Man, many people instantly think of the scene where this superhero uses the Hulkbuster armor to face off against Hulk. However, in the history of comics, there have been instances where Iron Man has taken down Hulk with just a regular suit of armor, not necessarily the Hulkbuster.
In Iron Man #132, when facing off against an enraged Hulk, Iron Man depleted all the energy reserves of his suit to deliver a powerful punch that left Hulk completely dazed. After this punch, Iron Man’s armor became useless, leaving him vulnerable to Hulk’s unpredictable rage.
Silver Surfer
Silver Surfer is one of the few characters in the Marvel universe capable of taking down Hulk. In Tales of Astonish #92-93, after colliding with Hulk using his surfboard, Surfer managed to send Hulk into a mindless rage with this powerful attack.
In The Incredible Hulk #250, Surfer had to overcome the immense pressure from Galactus, and with Hulk’s help, he was able to strike a blow. However, after using his tremendous power, Surfer accidentally stripped Hulk of his Gamma radiation, reverting him back to Bruce Banner.
Wolverine
Although Wolverine has never truly defeated Hulk, there was a significant event where Hulk was manipulated into becoming the Horseman of Apocalypse, known as Death.
In this storyline, Wolverine managed to confront Hulk, forcing him to retreat and even inflicting wounds that could have been fatal. Fortunately, in the end, Wolverine withdrew and realized that it was unwise to engage Hulk further.
Batman
Many might wonder why Batman appears in this list since he is a DC Comics character, while Hulk belongs to Marvel. These two characters have never officially faced each other in battle.
However, in 1981, Batman did indeed have a confrontation with Hulk. After escaping a trap set by the Joker, Batman encountered Hulk at his company. During this encounter, Batman utilized his gas grenades, incapacitating Hulk temporarily.
Thor
One of the most formidable opponents Hulk has faced in the Marvel universe is Thor. However, in reality, these two characters have battled each other multiple times, and neither has truly claimed a definitive victory over the other.
It wasn’t until 2001, in a new comic series, that Thor struck Hulk with a lightning bolt from behind, managing to incapacitate him. However, immediately after, Hulk quickly retaliated, striking back at Thor.
Havok
Havok is considered one of the few mutants capable of taking down Hulk. For those who may not know, Havok is the brother of Cyclops and is a prominent member of the X-Men, possessing the ability to absorb energy from his surroundings.
Utilizing his immense power, Havok managed to strike Hulk in a comic published in 1972.
