Warcraft has been a legendary game for many gamers over the past two decades. The news of Warcraft being adapted into a movie, titled Warcraft: The Beginning (released in Vietnam as Warcraft: Đại Chiến Hai Thế Giới), has brought excitement and anticipation for fans of this game in Vietnam.
To celebrate the movie’s release, on June 11, four gaming locations deemed the most vibrant and long-lasting in Hanoi—Vikings, Gameware, CGC, and Cybox—came together to host an event showcasing imagery from Warcraft alongside a Dota tournament featuring familiar characters like Hellscream and Thrall.
The excitement and engaging dynamics during the tournament were amplified by the commentary of Jay, a caster with four years of experience in various competitions. With his humorous, lively commentary, caster Jay created a memorable atmosphere for the event, attracting over 7,400 views on Facebook during the live stream.
Additionally, the appearance of gaming influencer Ngọc Linh as an MC further enlivened the atmosphere. Beyond the Dota competition, attendees enjoyed free snacks and had the chance to capture photos to win movie tickets.
The film Warcraft: The Beginning is set against the backdrop of the first conflict between two worlds, featuring Orcs and humans. The story begins in the peaceful realm of Azeroth, which is suddenly threatened by the impending war as Orc warriors seek to conquer the land and preserve their race.
After discovering a hidden passage between their worlds, the Orcs seek new ways to invade Azeroth. One side faces extinction, while the other confronts its own doom. In the chaos of the approaching battle, two heroes from opposing factions will clash in a decisive conflict that will determine the fate of their families, their people, and their homeland.
The film Warcraft: The Beginning premiered on June 10, 2016.
