Even with the vast array of new movie franchises, when it comes to X-Men, audiences will undoubtedly think of the iconic character Wolverine, brought to life by actor Hugh Jackman. This character is not only a central figure in the X-Men film series but has also earned the admiration of Vietnamese fans, affectionately referred to as “the wolf,” which resonates deeply with the character’s fierce persona. (In fact, even the name Wolverine translates to “wolf”!)
According to recent announcements from the X-Men Twitter page, the third installment in the standalone film series about the character Logan has officially found its title: Wolverine: Weapon X. This title has been officially registered by Fox as of yesterday.
With this title, there’s not much left to say; fans of Wolverine already know that this segment will primarily focus on the secret project Weapon X, which is known to be the operation that bonded adamantium to Wolverine’s skeleton.
In the film X-Men: Origins, audiences were introduced to the Weapon X program, along with the connection between this organization and Wolverine’s adamantium-enhanced skeleton.
In the third part of the Wolverine series, we will also meet a new character familiar to hardcore fans, Laura Kinney, also known as X-23, the clone version of Logan.
Like Wolverine, X-23 also possesses rapid healing abilities, agility, and strength, combined with impressive endurance. Additionally, X-23 is equipped with adamantium claws on both hands and… her feet. In the 2015 comic version, this character also regarded Logan, who she sees as a father figure, as the epitome of her own legacy as Wolverine.
