Notably, as of the current date, besides Godzilla, only the “Doraemon” series has surpassed the 100 million ticket sales mark.
For those who may not know, the first Godzilla film was released in 1954 and sold approximately 9.61 million tickets. The third film, titled “King Kong vs. Godzilla,” was released in 1962 and sold around 12.55 million tickets, becoming the highest-grossing film in the series at that time.
