Black Widow
While other members of the superhero team Avengers, such as Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man, have had their own standalone films, Black Widow has yet to receive a solo feature. Many viewers perceive Black Widow as just an ordinary woman without any particularly strong powers, which raises doubts about her ability to leave a lasting impression if given her own movie. However, the reality is that she is an incredibly complex character, shrouded in a significant amount of mystery, which provides ample opportunity to evoke a range of emotions in the audience.
She-Hulk
Hollywood has attempted several times to create a standalone film for the Hulk character, but those efforts have not met with success. So why not try it with another character who possesses similar strength but brings a different flavor… She-Hulk?
She-Hulk made her first appearance in the superhero comic book scene in the 1980s, originally as Jennifer Walters, a skilled attorney who gains the ability to transform into a stronger version of herself after receiving a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner (Why didn’t he just donate blood to me???). Her transformation grants her incredible strength, but she retains her intelligence, making her a unique character in the superhero realm.
Squirrel Girl
If Hollywood can use CGI to bring Rocket Raccoon to life in the Guardians of the Galaxy, then surely they can also create a film for the quirky superhero Squirrel Girl, a character who has garnered a significant fanbase since her debut in 1992.
Although Squirrel Girl’s powers may not be as overwhelmingly strong as other superheroes, her quirky personality and unique attributes would surely bring a refreshing and fun dynamic to the superhero genre.
Dazzler
In the 1980s, Marvel made an effort to capitalize on the disco craze by collaborating with Casablanca Records to create the character Dazzler, a unique superhero who can convert sound into light.
The story of Dazzler begins with Alison Blaire, a law student who decides to pursue a career in music. She embraces the thriving disco scene and discovers her ability to convert sound into light, which becomes her superpower.
Ms. Marvel
It’s worth noting that many viewers may wonder why Ms. Marvel is included in this list. Aren’t we supposed to be talking about Captain Marvel? Brie Larson has already been cast in that role, so what’s the deal?
In the current version of the story, Captain Marvel remains a male character, but he has been transformed into a female superhero in the films. It’s possible that the film version of Captain Marvel may not be the end of the road for Ms. Marvel, and a separate film featuring her could be in the works.
Iron Man and Thor
For quite some time, we have been accustomed to seeing Thor as a powerful male figure and Iron Man as Tony Stark, a wealthy genius. However, in the past two years, Marvel has made surprising changes, with Thor taking on a female role… that of Jane Foster, Thor’s love interest.
Iron Man has also seen a shift with the introduction of Riri Williams, a brilliant 15-year-old girl who has created her own armor. These two female superheroes, if included in upcoming Marvel films, would likely be well-received by audiences.
