The APAC Predator League 2025, organized by Acer, officially kicked off on January 11, 2025, marking a significant event in the esports arena after over six years of development. This is the first time the tournament is being held in Malaysia, with the presence of the Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh, at the opening ceremony.

This year’s tournament signifies the start of a new era with the introduction of two unique characters – Nero and Yuffy. These characters were created through a regional design competition, bringing a fresh perspective and showcasing the outstanding qualities of the Predator brand. The journey of Nero and Yuffy reflects the values of competition, support, and the inner strength of gamers, elevating the value of the Predator League as a challenge to both skills and personality.

The tournament also features the debut of the theme song “It Lies Within,” performed in multiple languages by renowned artists from various regions, including Vietnam. This serves as a testament to the tournament’s commitment to honoring the diverse cultural and linguistic heritage of the region while fostering deeper connections within the gaming community.

A total of 28 teams from 14 regions have gathered in Kuala Lumpur to compete for the prize pool. Andrew Hou, Acer’s Pan Asia Pacific Managing Director, stated: “Building on the foundation of the Predator gaming brand, the APAC Predator League is not just a tournament but a vibrant ecosystem that connects gamers across all levels. With the introduction of new characters, storyline, animations, and music, we aspire to make this tournament a captivating event that intertwines technology, gaming, and entertainment.”

Kon Tek Yoong, Managing Director of Acer Malaysia, added: “The APAC Predator League 2025 at MITEC will offer an experience that goes beyond a traditional esports tournament. This event not only bridges the gap between gamers and non-gamers but also embodies the vibrant spirit of esports. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the creativity and community spirit of the gaming industry. Alongside top-tier teams, Acer is bringing international stars and popular artists to Malaysia, such as Sandara Park, Minzy (2NE1), Aina Abdul, Hael Husaini, and G22 from the Philippines. The two-day event will also feature a Coswalk competition for pop culture and gaming enthusiasts, along with various engaging activities to reward attendees and create a unique interactive space.”
This year’s tournament continues with two titles: Dota 2 and VALORANT, where professional teams will compete for prizes through strategic gameplay and captivating performances. The VALORANT teams are currently in the semi-finals, with the winning team securing a spot in the finals. The same format applies to the Dota 2 teams in their matches the following day. The participating teams in this tournament will be equipped with top-tier Predator gaming gear, including Predator Orion X gaming PCs, Predator XB253Q gaming monitors, Predator Galea 365 headsets, and Predator gaming chairs.
The total prize pool for the tournament reaches up to $400,000, aimed at honoring the most outstanding teams in the region. The APAC Predator League 2025 will witness top-tier teams from across the region competing for the coveted Predator Shield and a portion of the total prize pool.
