In the recent developments of the Marvel superhero comic series, there are significant changes regarding character dynamics. A notable highlight is the transformation of She-Hulk into the main character in her own separate comic series about Hulk, effectively replacing our beloved Green Giant.
News about this change has surfaced for several months, especially as She-Hulk has made multiple appearances in the Marvel universe. Our heroine, Jennifer, has been notably absent since her intense battle with the Avengers against Thanos. Following this, she has been grappling with the aftermath of a long and intense marriage and is aware that her brother, Bruce Banner, has been killed by Hawkeye.
Hawkeye has explained that he only did what Bruce asked him to do, and Bruce wished for Hawkeye to kill him to prevent him from transforming into the Hulk and causing harm to those around him.
The story will be crafted by writers Mariko Tamaki and Nico Leon, focusing on the new journey of Jennifer – She-Hulk, set to launch in a comic series this December.
“Jen has been through a lot since her long marriage,” Tamaki stated. “The upcoming story will delve into how one must confront challenges, especially those dark experiences surrounding marriage and mental health… I aim to showcase a side of Hulk within her, reflecting how she can transform into a monster while battling her inner struggles. The story will uniquely explore Hulk’s themes and this character’s journey.”
Jennifer Walter – She-Hulk has always been a distinctly different character from Bruce Banner’s Hulk, as she can harness her strength at will while maintaining her control, unlike Hulk, who loses himself completely to his rage.
According to Marvel’s latest announcements, following Hulk’s demise, this character will temporarily step into the limelight as a leading superhero in the Marvel comic universe before any resurrection takes place. During this period, She-Hulk will take over the mantle as the central character in the series focused on the Green Giant.
