Faker Remains Mysteriously Silent Amidst T1 Drama
Throughout the ongoing drama series surrounding T1 since the upheaval involving Zeus in November 2024, one character has consistently captured the attention of the League of Legends community and T1 fans, yet has remained eerily silent: Faker. Since the turmoil surrounding Zeus, Faker has only mentioned the drama three times, and each time, he shared only general thoughts, indirectly referencing the individuals involved (Zeus and Gumayusi).

However, in reality, Faker’s silence, when considering his professional demeanor as the “God of the Rift,” is quite understandable given the circumstances.
Faker Cannot Overrule T1’s Coach
Currently, while Faker maintains his honorary title and contributes to the team, his primary role is still that of a player. Moreover, the coaching staff, led by KkOma—Faker’s long-time mentor—along with Tom and Mata, remain close to him. As such, Faker may intervene in matters concerning gameplay, such as strategies and critical points in matches. Nevertheless, the ultimate decisions rest with the coaching staff and management.

As a result, Faker has been unable to share anything regarding Zeus’s transfer nor intervene in the decision regarding Gumayusi’s position. Additionally, anti-fans have targeted CEO Joe for stating that he “interfered to bring Gumayusi into the main lineup.” However, as CEO, he does have authority. If the situation were reversed, it would be even more challenging for Faker, especially concerning Gumayusi’s position.
Could T1’s Decisions be Influenced by Faker’s Silence?
Furthermore, back in 2021, when coach Daeny continuously rotated the lineup and Faker often found himself in a position to be benched, he did not receive media attention until the Mid-Season event. At that time, not only were T1’s results and achievements impacted, but Faker himself became a “person of interest.”

Regarding Zeus’s drama, there are many external factors that influence the situation. As for Gumayusi’s drama, it primarily revolves around T1 and the young player born in 2002. Despite being distant, both Gumayusi and Faker are crucial to the team. Moreover, T1’s achievements at the LCK Cup 2025 are hard to ignore. Meanwhile, the 2025 Regular Seasons have only gone through four matches, leaving much yet to be determined.
Therefore, it is likely that Faker does not feel compelled to make a public statement. Ultimately, when Faker does take action, T1 will undoubtedly undergo changes, and there will be certain repercussions afterward. Faker may currently be observing and waiting for the right moment; it could be that T1 is no longer in control of their performance outcomes.
