Apple has officially added Vietnamese language support to the list of languages that Siri can assist with, starting from the iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, and watchOS 11.4 updates. This marks the first time Siri can interact in Vietnamese, offering a more intuitive control experience for users in Vietnam.

Launched in 2011, Siri is the first virtual assistant integrated directly into the iPhone, beginning with the iPhone 4S model. At that time, Siri only supported English and a few other languages such as French and German. After more than a decade of development, Siri has been enhanced with numerous new features and expanded language support. However, it wasn’t until the iOS 18.4 update in 2025 that users in Vietnam could officially use Siri in Vietnamese. This is a significant step in Apple’s ongoing efforts to localize its services in Southeast Asia.

Users can now issue commands to Siri in Vietnamese to perform common tasks such as setting reminders, playing music, making calls, checking the weather, and many other functionalities, all through voice commands. The Vietnamese version of Siri also supports dialect selection for both Northern and Southern accents, allowing for a personalized experience tailored to individual preferences.
Additionally, several popular applications in Vietnam, such as Be, MoMo, and ZaloPay, have been integrated with Siri. This integration enables users to easily order food, book rides, transfer money, or quickly find movie tickets using Vietnamese voice commands, especially benefiting older users who may find it more convenient to operate quickly without needing to navigate through multiple interfaces.

Siri is designed to process requests directly on the device, helping to minimize the sharing of personal data externally while ensuring users’ privacy. With the essential features needing real-time information from Apple servers, Siri only utilizes the minimum amount of data necessary, ensuring privacy while not connecting personal data with the user’s Apple account.
With the addition of Vietnamese language support, Siri becomes a more useful tool for the user community in Vietnam, marking a significant milestone in Apple’s localization efforts globally.
