The highly anticipated Disney film adaptation of Beauty and The Beast is set to be released on March 17, 2017. However, details and images from the film have been gradually unveiled to the public. Just yesterday, Stitch Kingdom satisfied audience cravings by releasing two new images featuring Emma Watson (as Belle) and Dan Stevens as the Beast.
The first image is a scene from the film, showing Belle as she appears to be exploring a library, though it remains unclear whether this library belongs to the Beast or is part of her own home.
The second image appears to be a promotional poster featuring Belle and the Beast in a romantic pose. This image draws inspiration from the iconic “Tale as Old as Time” sequence from the original animated film released in 1991.
Despite the excitement from fans upon the teaser trailer’s release, the latest images have stirred some skepticism. It is clear that there is no connection between the two main characters, with both appearing somewhat “disinterested,” which is a stark contrast to the emotional depth of the original animated version. Some viewers have also pointed out Emma Watson’s somewhat blank expression in this image, which might distract audiences from focusing on their interactions. The design of the Beast also seems less appealing compared to the original animated character.
