Boruto: Two Blue Vortex boldly challenges the world as the son of Hokage faces a formidable fate. Boruto Uzumaki lives in a world where the great ninja villages have turned into adversaries, and the remaining ninja are on the verge of extinction.
Currently, Naruto and Hinata are trapped in another dimension due to Kawaki’s schemes. Shikamaru has stepped into the role of Hokage and is determined to protect the Leaf Village’s citizens at all costs.
Historically, the Hokage of the Leaf Village have always been willing to take extreme actions to ensure the safety of their people. The current Hokage, however, has a tough job ahead as he aims to maintain peace and stability in a troubled world.
Unfortunately, with Naruto missing, the responsibility of safeguarding the village falls on Shikamaru’s shoulders, and this tactical genius is ready to devise a plan to ensure the safety of the village’s citizens.
Shikamaru’s Emotional Burden
The latest characters featured in Two Blue Vortex are the Divine Trees, which take on a terrifying form as they absorb and transform ninjas into trees. Among these Divine Trees we’ve encountered so far, Matsuri is the only female member of this deadly ensemble. One of the Claw Grimes was created by Code’s Ten-Tails, which transformed Moegi Kazamatsuri into Matsuri.
Shikamaru has seen firsthand how Konohamaru and the remaining members of Team 7 will struggle against this force in the near future, and he has devised a plan to eliminate the Divine Trees. We know that Moegi has long been a part of the Naruto series, first appearing alongside Konohamaru when both were still young ninjas.
Shikamaru views the Divine Trees as formidable monsters capable of high-level combat, with their primary targets being Konohamaru and Sarada. Thus, they can only be assessed as adversaries. However, the relationship between them is complicated as there’s no definitive conclusion to label the Divine Trees as pure evil. In his personal opinion, they resemble the offspring of a cruel species.
Shikamaru believes that they do not have malicious intent, at least not at the current stage. They are merely a byproduct of nature, but their dangerous strength makes them a potential threat to human lives.
However, Shikamaru declares he will negotiate with them, attempting to conquer those who have already fallen prey to this new threat while they are still young and vulnerable. After that, he will aim to eliminate them.
He explains that this plan would be perfect if only they could be seen as mere adversaries, allowing him to remain vigilant to eliminate them. He admits that Naruto would likely not approach the situation this way, but he does not have to be Naruto. Additionally, Shikamaru also intends to use this strategy to prevent the existence of these super monsters due to the survival of humanity.

Shikamaru further elaborates why Konohamaru is the perfect candidate for this mission, stating that Matsuri has feelings for him. While Konohamaru is surprised, Shikamaru mentions that Matsuri is unaware of this and does not realize what emotions she is experiencing. Therefore, this plan could potentially put Matsuri in a precarious emotional state, complicating the situation.
Shikamaru also emphasizes that Konohamaru must remain detached since the Divine Trees are a critical threat. According to intelligence reports, if Matsuri or Ryu appear, the worst-case scenario is that both show up together. They need to devise a subtle plan to avoid falling into traps.
Shikamaru has always been a strategic mind within the Konoha ranks, but his emotional attachments could be exactly what the Leaf Village needs. Unfortunately for the village, there are still many issues being developed regarding Matsuri’s emotional stability.
