Maid Cafe, or “Café nàng hầu,” is a unique service model that has emerged and is currently developing rapidly in Japan. In these cafes, the staff typically cosplay in Maid style, embodying characters from vintage-themed fantasy settings. More intriguingly, some cafes even have staff members who resemble characters from various anime or manga, creating an immersive experience for fans.
In Vietnam, this type of café has been around for quite some time, but for several reasons, it has not developed as robustly as in Japan. However, it has garnered attention among a segment of the population that is passionate about Otaku culture.
Recently, the café scene in Ho Chi Minh City has become quite vibrant, especially with the introduction of a new Maid Café called FM Shop Café. Notably, FM Shop Café also features a Toy Café aspect, allowing customers to enjoy unique items and play with various toys available in the café.
This new Maid Café model is currently under research and development, actively recruiting many female employees to cosplay as maids, similar to the cafes found in any otaku’s dreams. The café is located at 409/2 Hoa Hao Street, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, and boasts a variety of engaging activities alongside charming cosplay staff.
According to the café’s management, they aim to create a unique and appealing environment. They plan to style the employees in various cosplay outfits, allowing guests to encounter characters they love from anime and manga in a relaxing setting.
In conclusion, Maid Cafés are gaining traction in Vietnam, offering fans a slice of Japanese culture right at home, alongside an opportunity to engage with the beloved characters from their favorite stories.
