Along with his relentless “money-spending” antics, MrBeast has become the YouTuber with the most subscribers on this platform. Notably, his show on Prime Video, Beast Games – a real-life version of Squid Game, features 1000 contestants competing for a prize of up to 10 million dollars.
This show has also become the most-watched non-scripted series on Amazon, with 50 million viewers in its initial month of release. However, other YouTubers have also faced significant challenges leading up to this success.
The cash prize of 10 million dollars is also the largest prize in the history of reality game shows. Initially set at 5 million dollars, throughout the filming, MrBeast managed to increase the prize money by flipping coins. This is just one of the reasons MrBeast has openly stated that despite Amazon providing a budget of 100 million dollars, he still had to “dig deep” into his own pockets to support the program.
“Executing Beast Games was not a financially straightforward decision,” MrBeast revealed. This young YouTuber also confessed that he lost quite a lot during the filming process. He explained that costs for just one episode in the 10-episode series could exceed 15 million dollars, even reaching 50 million for the first two episodes. In the end, this YouTuber had to acknowledge that he was in a difficult financial position when investing in this show.
However, the money challenges faced by MrBeast are quite significant. The YouTuber himself is wealthy enough not to be overly concerned about small losses along the way. Nevertheless, when asked about the second part of the show, MrBeast is ready to sign a contract with Amazon right away.
