The movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” is set to debut during the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “dark period,” following the underwhelming performances of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels at the box office. Critics describe the film as a “bold and audacious step from Marvel.”

On social media platform X, critic Sean Tajipour from Nerdtropolis stated, “Deadpool & Wolverine is a game-changer for the MCU as it is the largest, boldest, and most extravagant film since Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are the ultimate duo that everyone looks forward to.”
Editor David Thompson from Direct referred to “Deadpool & Wolverine” as the MCU’s “bloodiest and funniest film to date.” He added, “Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman together create wonderful symbols. The film may not be perfect, but it is a significant step in the right direction for Marvel.”
Hollywood Handle remarked that “Deadpool & Wolverine” is engaging and meets expectations while praising Hugh Jackman’s performance. “The actor delivers one of his best performances in his career as Wolverine. The film is still surprising, but it does not affect the storytelling.”
Writer Erik Davis from Fandango believes that the guest characters, along with the action-packed violence, are not the only elements making “Deadpool & Wolverine” captivating. “Understanding the characters and the filmmaking approach with love and respect for the source material is key to capturing the audience’s emotions,” Davis shared.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is the third installment in the “Deadpool” franchise. In this third film, Deadpool and Wolverine, played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, are tasked by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to carry out a mission that “changes the entire timeline of the MCU.” Initially, they clash due to their contrasting personalities. After some initial fights, they eventually join forces for the greater good. The cast also includes Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Morena Baccarin, among others.
Although Marvel faced setbacks with box office failures in 2023, “Deadpool & Wolverine” is expected to be a significant success for the studio. With numerous positive reviews, experts predict that the film will gross approximately $165 million in its opening weekend in the US alone, from July 26 to 28, potentially setting a record for the highest opening for an R-rated film.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” will premiere in theaters worldwide on July 26. In Vietnam, the film will be released a day later, on July 27.
