1. Pepper Potts Will Become the Superhero Rescue
According to several leaked images circulating online for a while, it is highly possible that Pepper Potts, the girlfriend of Iron Man Tony Stark, will join the superhero team to fight against Thanos in Avengers 4. While recording the audio for a trailer, Tony mentioned the word “rescue.”
This isn’t the first time Pepper has donned an Iron Man suit; Marvel audiences previously witnessed this in Iron Man 3, but it’s in Avengers 4 that Pepper will officially become a superhero. In the comic book series, Pepper accidentally discovers a suit created by Tony specifically for her, hidden within a Stark Industries storage unit.
It’s unclear how Tony will manage to survive. Will he meet Korg and Miek along with Valkyrie? Or will he encounter… Captain Marvel Carol Danvers in the process?
2. Details Hinting at Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet
Marvel Studios has become accustomed to using the intro in their trailers, which hints at Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet, making it a notable feature in the extensive universe where the battle in Avengers: Infinity War takes place.
3. Thanos’ Appearance
At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, when Thanos arrives on a throne in a vast field reminiscent of the scenery in Vietnam, it also serves as a backdrop for the conclusion of the Infinity Gauntlet event as Thanos leisurely prepares for the next cosmic event. In the comic series, Adam Warlock arrives two months later and finds a Thanos statue in a vast landscape.
Just after the snap, fans can catch a glimpse of the Infinity Gauntlet in ruins resting on the Titan’s fingers.
4. Shuri’s Disappearance
At 1:16, if you pay attention, you might see Shuri listed among the missing characters, including Ant-Man Scott Lang, who was not affected by Thanos’ snap, and Spider-Man who turned to dust in Infinity War.
5. Hawkeye’s Transformation into Ronin
Like Pepper Potts becoming Rescue, Hawkeye Clint Barton also took on a darker persona with a new suit reflecting a different side of him in the comics as Ronin. This also piqued audience interest even before Infinity War, as his character was still a mystery, but after watching the trailer, viewers can see Clint has embraced the Ronin identity, replacing his bow with a sword, embodying the essence of a Yakuza assassin in Japan. How has Thanos’ snap affected Clint’s family… leading him to this?
6. Steve Rogers Returns as Captain America in Stealth Suit
This is not just an Easter egg; at 1:38, fans can see Steve no longer as Nomad, as in Infinity War, but instead returning as Captain America in a Stealth Suit from the Winter Soldier film.
7. The Title of Avengers 4
There’s been buzz about the title that makes fans recall the words of Doctor Strange during the battle against Thanos on Titan, “We are in the endgame now.”
8. Ant-Man’s Appearance at the End of the Trailer
The latest appearance of Ant-Man Scott Lang hints at his connection to the Quantum Realm at the end of the trailer, much to Cap’s surprise, as he assumes this is a crucial piece of information (if you pay attention, you might see the archive storage in the left corner).
However, according to Black Widow, this is a live feed, so it’s unclear how Scott escaped from the Quantum Realm, raising speculations among Marvel fans over the past months.
Avengers 4 is set to be released on May 3, 2019.
