Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) is one of the most acclaimed anime series, praised for its breathtaking battles and stunning animation by Ufotable. Since the first season, Tanjiro has been fighting against powerful demons, including several members of the Twelve Kizuki.
After being trained by the Hashira, Tanjiro has come closer to confronting Muzan, but still has to overcome the obstacles set by the Upper Moons before facing the ultimate challenge. Every part of the Infinity Castle arc will feature different battles against the Twelve Kizuki, with a significant focus on Tanjiro’s revenge for Rengoku’s death. Indeed, we are talking about the much-anticipated battle between Tanjiro and Upper Rank Three, Akaza.
The Battle Between Tanjiro and Akaza: A Major Highlight of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
The Hashira Training arc concludes with the training of all the Hashira, including Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu, as they are brought to the Infinity Castle. Kagaya Ubuyashiki not only sacrifices himself but also his entire family to deliver a blow against Muzan. However, it will take much more than that to defeat the Demon King. In reality, before they can face Muzan, Tanjiro and his companions will have to confront the Twelve Kizuki, who are currently battling the human soldiers in the Infinity Castle.
Ufotable has confirmed that the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle arc from the manga will be divided into three film parts. Each part will feature different battles, and undoubtedly, every battle will be a unique and thrilling experience unlike any others.
For example, the first film could showcase Zenitsu battling Upper Rank Two, and we might even see Shinobu Kocho confront Doma. However, fans are eagerly anticipating a battle that will serve as the main highlight of the first film—specifically, the climactic battle between Tanjiro and Upper Rank Three, Akaza.
While Tanjiro aims to eliminate all demons on the battlefield, his rivalry with Akaza is particularly intense. Akaza is the demon who took Rengoku’s life right before Tanjiro and his friends, and fueled by vengeance, Tanjiro has become stronger to seek revenge for Rengoku. Ultimately, Tanjiro will have the opportunity to confront Akaza, who is one of the first Upper Moons he must face when entering the Infinity Castle.
However, Tanjiro will not be the only one facing Akaza, as Giyuu Tomioka will also participate in the battle. Up to this point in the story, we have yet to fully witness Giyuu’s potential as a Hashira, leading fans to anticipate a thrilling fight when he finally faces Akaza.
Moreover, let’s not forget that Giyuu spared Nezuko and compelled Tanjiro to join the Demon Slayer Corps. In a sense, Tanjiro and Giyuu’s story will come full circle as they collaborate to avenge Rengoku while both of them are fighting side by side.
