Introduction to Den of Wolves
Set against the backdrop of a future where artificial intelligence has advanced exponentially, causing global chaos, a coalition of large entities has devised a method to transmit information impervious to AI interference: Human-Driven Data Transmission. However, this method raises numerous debates regarding ethics and legality. Consequently, a national coalition has established the city of Midway – marketed as the center of “new tech industries,” but essentially a haven for conducting research and experiments on the cutting edge of ethical boundaries. Not long after, this city became a hub for organized crime, a place where the most dangerous and illicit activities are rampant. It is also the inspiration behind the name Den of Wolves – a term representing those living outside the margins of society.
In the game, you and three other players will assume the roles of hired guns – henchmen for large criminal organizations. The group’s mission is straightforward: Carry out any task the boss demands. As long as there’s money involved, the team will take action.
At first glance, the narrative of Den of Wolves draws parallels to the Payday series – games that have become iconic in the co-op genre. As a fan of Payday 2, I can’t help but wonder: Will 10 Chambers be able to recreate that successful formula in an entirely new game? Or will it be overshadowed by the enormous shadow cast by its predecessor?

First Impressions of Den of Wolves
Before starting, each player selects their primary character class, role, and a support item – helping to define their role within the team. Some players may choose to be tanks, while others may focus on damage dealing. Personally, I opted for the most supportive item: a shield, then hit “Ready.”
This mission involved infiltrating a facility to extract valuable data. To accomplish this, the team had to stealthily navigate through enemy guards, find necessary equipment, and open locked doors to access restricted areas.
At this point, the team had two options: stick together to provide mutual support but risk running out of time, or split up to save time but face greater risks. Ultimately, we decided to divide into smaller groups. Initially, things went quite smoothly – the team’s coordination was still strong, but then we encountered a group of guards, and chaos ensued. The mission quickly turned into a frantic escape.

Experiencing the First Mission of Den of Wolves
Once we gathered the necessary materials, we began executing our operation called “Dive” – or “Infiltration” into the facility. At this point, the setting changed completely. The team was immersed in a world where reality felt almost non-existent. The objective was to navigate through various parkour segments while racing against the clock. This was the most challenging part for new players, as the sensation of losing direction could easily lead to falling. Fortunately, only one person needed to succeed for the entire group to be considered successful.
“Infiltration” is an exhilarating experience: after each successful maneuver, players are encouraged to continue the fight and prepare for the next challenge. The adrenaline rush combined with parkour creates a distinct and engaging gameplay experience.

Death and Comeback Moments
Initial missions were quite challenging, leaving me quite concerned. However, as the missions progressed, enemy forces became denser, stronger, and more widespread. The chaos made it even more difficult to coordinate, and I was the first to fall. The team struggled, but eventually, we managed to regroup. However, we soon found ourselves overwhelmed again. The failure was frustrating.
After that initial failure, we found ourselves outside, regrouping, and the two developers from 10 Chambers brought us a fresh experience! The team worked together to strategize, feeling like a real heist – the sensation of teamwork was palpable, and it enhanced the experience.
After refining our strategy, we attempted the mission again. This time, the team moved together more effectively. And the result? Victory!

Summary and Reflections
Below are some standout points I took away from playing Den of Wolves:
- Visuals: Stunning graphics, modern aesthetics, and vibrant lighting create a very appealing atmosphere. The UI is intuitive, making it easy to navigate – a strong point.
- Gameplay: The combat feel has been polished nicely. The “Dive” system adds a fresh layer, though the parkour segments could use further refinement to align better with new players.
- Sound – Soundtrack: Simon Viklund does not disappoint, evoking the nostalgic feeling reminiscent of the heights of Payday 2.
Conclusion
With my initial experience, I believe Den of Wolves is a game worth anticipating. From its narrative depth, gameplay style, to attention to detail, 10 Chambers shows that they are not merely living off their past successes – they are creating something truly unique. Of course, it still requires time to hone its craft, but as of now, Den of Wolves is heading in the right direction.
The game currently does not have a formal release date, but you can wishlist it on Steam and follow the official website of 10 Chambers for the latest updates.
