As of now, the excitement surrounding Black Myth: Wukong is heating up significantly following its nearly year-long reveal. However, this game still hasn’t appeared on Xbox, leaving many players feeling disappointed.
Rumors Suggest Black Myth: Wukong Might Have a “Delay” Agreement with Sony
Recently, Feng Ji, the director of Game Science, publicly addressed this issue, hinting that the delay in the game’s launch on Xbox might be due to an agreement with Sony. Specifically, he mentioned that the focus remains primarily on Xbox, with the 10GB limitation of the Xbox Series S posing a significant challenge. Of that, only 8GB is available for gaming, as 2GB is reserved for the OS.
This situation bears similarities to Baldur’s Gate 3, the blockbuster hit of 2022, which also faced numerous delays before its Xbox launch. Notably, compromises had to be made, cutting certain modes from the game to facilitate its release. The same may apply to Black Myth: Wukong. Therefore, Feng Ji’s statements seem to imply that Game Science is indeed in a “delay” situation with Sony, as previously speculated. Instead, the absence of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox could be attributed to ongoing discussions with Xbox itself.
