Recently, the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Police Department of Da Nang City has discovered numerous closed groups on the social media platform Telegram that exhibit signs of operating a new type of prostitution network in Da Nang.
Through professional measures, the Cybersecurity Police Department collaborated with the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Police Department to identify Nguyen Truong Anh Tuan (born in 1985; residing in Chau Thuong village, Binh Nguyen commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province; currently residing in Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang City) as the main suspect, leading the operation of a new type of prostitution network in Da Nang.
Using Telegram, Tuan created an “ecosystem” consisting of various groups, such as “Da Nang Prostitution Network,” “Da Nang Prostitution Exchange,” “Hot List Da Nang Prostitution,” “Prostitution Services in Da Nang,” etc., to advertise the services of sex workers. The aim was to facilitate connections, “showcase products” to potential clients, and engage in illegal prostitution activities while attracting thousands of participants.
By April 10, the Director of the Da Nang City Police had instructed the Cybersecurity Police Department to establish a specialized investigation team for the case “New Type of Prostitution Network in Da Nang,” involving multiple law enforcement agencies, primarily the Cybersecurity Police Department and the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Police. On April 15, the task force took action against the suspect Nguyen Truong Anh Tuan, dismantling the prostitution network.
During the initial interrogation, Nguyen Truong Anh Tuan admitted to his illegal activities. Tuan has been the creator of the “Da Nang Prostitution Network” group on Telegram, which has been active since 2022 and currently has 14,611 members.
The operational process led by Tuan connected, directed, and recruited around 300 female sex workers to operate within this network. The fees for prostitution services typically ranged from 500,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND.
The illegal profits derived from the “New Type of Prostitution Network” are substantial. Tuan received monthly payments from each sex worker ranging from 500,000 VND to 2,000,000 VND.
From 2022 to now, the transactions related to “Buying and Selling Sex” within the “Da Nang Prostitution Network” have reportedly reached tens of billions of VND, as Tuan earned tens of billions of VND from this illegal operation.
Currently, the Cybersecurity Police Department is continuing to collaborate with the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Police Department to expand the investigation and track down other individuals involved.
