At the press conference on April 6, responding to questions from the media about this topic, Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thu Hang stated: Right after the incident of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 went missing, Vietnamese authorities acted promptly, focusing on sharing information, coordinating with Malaysia and other countries wishing to deploy search and rescue operations on a large scale, while also supporting foreign experts in providing information. However, the capability of Vietnam at that time was limited, as reported by both domestic and international media.

To date, the relevant authorities have not yet issued an official conclusion regarding the case of MH370. Therefore, Vietnam believes that the documentary film MH370: The Plane That Disappeared presents certain inaccuracies due to the lack of official conclusions from the relevant authorities, which leads to misunderstandings about Vietnam’s involvement.

“We request production companies and filmmakers to accurately reflect Vietnam’s contributions in the search and rescue operations for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, correcting any inappropriate content,” Hang declared.

MH370: The Plane That Disappeared is a three-part British documentary directed by Louise Malkinson, released on Netflix, covering the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 on March 8, 2014.
