According to Box Office Vietnam, after 10 days of release in Vietnam, the film Doraemon Movie 44: Nobita and the World of Drawings achieved a revenue milestone of 100 billion VND on June 1st, Children’s Day.
However, in recent days, this animated film has almost not had any competition outside of Vietnam. The production is under pressure regarding the performance and ticket sales. On the morning of June 1st, Doraemon Movie 44 grossed 8.1 billion VND, selling over 84,000 tickets.

Following Doraemon are Nhiệm Vụ Bắt Khả Thi 8 and Lilo & Stitch, which grossed 2.2 billion and 2.3 billion VND respectively. The only locally produced animated film that has recently hit the market is Đế Mèn: Cuộc Phiêu Lưu Tới Xóm Lầy Lội, which earned 1.9 billion VND. This marks the debut of a Vietnamese animated feature on June 1st, competing against international animated films.
Doraemon Movie 44 begins when Claire – the princess of the Artoria kingdom – unexpectedly appears in the real world, leading the Doraemon team into a world of drawings. Here, they must confront a dark ancient legend that brings strong elements of horror and destruction to both worlds.
Upon release, the film received quite positive feedback from industry experts and audiences alike. Film critic Nguyễn Phong Việt noted that Doraemon is a highly recognized animated brand in the Vietnamese market. In this installment, Doraemon brings a stronger film segment, adventurous and more thrilling.

Upon its release, Doraemon Movie 44 received positive reactions from industry experts and viewers.
“The battles of the characters in the film are more intense. This is something I have never seen in previous episodes of Doraemon. Previously, the conflicts in this series had a lighter, more humanitarian nature,” noted expert Phong Việt.
The more intense battles characterizing this film make Doraemon Movie 44 distinct, garnering a lot of audience appreciation. Expert Phong Việt believes this change is more suitable for today’s audience.
Previously, the animated series about the cat robot consistently dominated the box office in Vietnam, achieving impressive revenues. In 2024, Doraemon Movie 43 earned 147 billion VND at the Vietnamese box office, while Doraemon Movie 42 (2023) also grossed 84 billion VND.
