As Dragon Ball Daima starts its concluding arc and many secrets begin to unfold, unfortunately, the response to these revelations has left many feeling disappointed due to the lack of character development. The narrative feels stronger in Chapter 16, when Degesu finally takes action. Initially introduced as an aide to the Supreme King Gomah, he has a different ambition. It turns out he also wants to become the Supreme King, but only as a means to inherit this title, not because of some grand strategy.
Degesu’s actions eventually lead him to Dende, but soon he finds himself overshadowed by Goku and others he encounters along the way. After seeking Dende’s assistance, Degesu quickly finds himself in a tight spot and struggling to assert himself as a significant player in the story. Things get even messier when the truth about his relationship with both the Supreme Kai and the Supreme King Arinsu is revealed. There’s a brief moment when the Supreme Kai hints that Degesu could be a pawn in a power struggle, yet it remains a long and complex battle between the Glind brothers that fans are left hoping to witness.
The Glind brothers are also introduced with great expectations, leading fans to wonder what their ultimate purpose will be. Fans are aware that their presence is crucial in the unfolding events of the storyline, and they have already been hinted at as significant players. The situation becomes dire when it is revealed that the Supreme King has his own agenda. If he only aims to take the throne like Degesu, it would indeed feel like a letdown. He should not need to go through so many trials to prove his strength.
In contrast, Gomah emerges as a more traditional villain among the two characters mentioned. He does not have the comedic or powerful legacy seen in the past of Dragon Ball; rather, with the Evil Third Eye, he appears to be the formidable enemy Goku and Vegeta will need to contend with.
Will Gomah’s Role Satisfy Fans in the Final Chapters of Dragon Ball Daima?
After witnessing everything unfold with Degesu, who quickly becomes a character that fails to fulfill any expectations despite his potential, fans are left worried about what will happen with Arinsu and Gomah. These two characters have been referenced more often than the previously introduced villains, making them crucial to the series, and their failure could lead to greater disappointment.
Arinsu has openly declared her ambition to take over the Supreme King’s domain for herself, but she still hasn’t revealed what she truly wants to accomplish. If she also simply wishes to become the Supreme King like Degesu, it would be a significant letdown. She would effectively be a minor player in a game she initially seems to dominate.
In the case of Gomah, he remains a more traditional villain compared to the two characters above. He may not be a comedic symbol or a powerful figure from Dragon Ball’s past, but with the Evil Third Eye, he is certainly presented as an opponent strong enough to challenge Goku and Vegeta.
