One Piece: A Legendary Shonen Manga and Anime Series
One Piece is one of the most famous manga and anime series in the Shonen genre. Its hidden layers add to the captivating nature of the story. One of the biggest mysteries in One Piece is the legendary treasure that Luffy aspires to obtain.
The words of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, set the stage for countless adventures when he claimed that anyone who finds the One Piece treasure would gain immense wealth, fame, and power. However, more than 22 years after Roger’s passing, no one has reached the final island – Laugh Tale, where the Pirate King concealed his treasure.
Although the story does not reveal much about what this treasure is or how it will conclude, the creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, has been planning the final arc for the past 25 years. Moreover, his statements assure fans that the series will have a beautifully satisfying conclusion.
In 1999, Oda shared: “I have decided the ending and the framework for the conclusion. I will focus on the adventures of the crew and the world outside.”
Furthermore, he mentioned in 2019: “The One Piece treasure is not merely a representation of the ultimate goal of the Straw Hat crew or their journey. I dislike vague interpretations. Just like in the Wizard of Oz, where the journey itself is the treasure, Luffy will have an incredible adventure, but he will obtain a treasure of true significance.”
The One Piece manga has been ongoing since its debut in 1997.
The story is currently unfolding with the second part of the Final Saga, the Elbaf arc, and is expected to conclude in a few years. Elbaf is the land of giants, where the Straw Hat crew will embark on a new adventure and may get closer to the treasure than ever before.
