In the World of Elden Ring: Nightreign, Secrets and Mysteries are Always a Part of the Experience. Currently, the gaming community is focused on a super rare item called Cord End.
It is noteworthy that Cord End is considered the key to unlocking a branch of secrets, potentially leading to the largest hidden mystery in the entire game.

For those who have played Dark Souls, you might recall the useless items that appeared in your inventory as soon as you started the game – items that seemed to lack value, yet kept the community guessing about their hidden utility.
In the end, it turned out that these items were indeed useless – a trademark of FromSoftware’s design. However, this did not prevent players from delving deep into every detail, as the titles from FromSoftware are always known for their notoriously difficult hidden layers. Currently, a new legend is taking shape in Nightreign. The item known as Cord End is said to have an incredibly low drop rate – only 0.035%, which translates to about 7 times in 20,000 attempts to find it in randomly generated dungeons.

Because of this terrifying rarity, a large number of players, including those who have spent over 60 hours in the game, have yet to see it. According to speculations, Cord End is used to unlock a branch in the underground dungeons located beneath the central hub of the game. Behind the door are three Sacrificial Twigs – items that help players retain their runes when they die. However, this reward is deemed quite “underwhelming” compared to the potential of such a rare item. This situation raises doubts: is Cord End truly meant to be used to unlock a simple door like that?

The speculation deepens as the description of Cord End mentions a “branching path with the ability to splice” – a term that appears in the lore of the Roundtable Hold. At this point, two cryptic messages appear: “Let the branch be given to the wandering one.” Many believe that this refers to the act of delivering the three Sacrificial Twigs to a specific location in the game or using Cord End in the final area of Nightreign. However, due to the rarity of the item, it is quite rare for anyone to be able to experiment with these theories definitively.
