In the world of Naruto, Senju Hashirama, the First Hokage (Shodai Hokage), is the leader of the Senju clan, who allied with the Uchiha clan (led by Madara) to establish the village of Konoha. His area of expertise lies in various techniques related to the Wood Release and he is known for his immense strength.
However, is it true that he is the fastest ninja of his time? The answer is no. In terms of speed, Hashirama was surpassed by his younger brother, Senju Tobirama, the Second Hokage (Nidaime Hokage). Along with his brother, Tobirama is also recognized as one of the strongest ninjas of their era.

Tobirama is not only famous for his ability to utilize the Flying Thunder God Technique but also for his incredible combat skills. Even Uchiha Madara himself acknowledged that Tobirama was the fastest among all ninjas.
Moreover, according to Madara, Tobirama possessed exceptional combat tactics and strategies. He would often devise plans to counter unexpected attacks from enemies, allowing him to emerge victorious and catch them off guard.

The remarkable technique that Tobirama mastered is the Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique). This was one of the many techniques he created. To use this technique, the user must mark a specific location with a special seal, often referred to as “the marking technique,” on an object (which could be a kunai, shuriken, etc.) with just a single touch. Unlike common marking techniques, this seal remains permanent and allows for instantaneous transportation to the marked point.
After marking, the user can choose to teleport to that specific marked location at incredible speeds, even faster than the Raikage’s own movement.

However, many years later, Namikaze Minato succeeded in mastering Tobirama’s speed technique after refining the original concept of the Second Hokage. In fact, Minato became known as “the Yellow Flash of Konoha,” a testament to his astonishing speed. He preferred to apply the marking technique to his unique kunai before entering battle, allowing him to transport himself across the battlefield and create opportunities for swift movement in any combat situation.
