When discussing the powerful Dojutsu of the Boruto series, enthusiasts should be aware that there are numerous unique abilities. However, these abilities are quite distinct, and they are not the focal point of the narrative as they were in the Naruto series.
Most of the new developments occurring in Boruto are closely tied to the Otsutsuki clan. Since this clan comprises extraterrestrial beings that have evolved over many generations, it is challenging to ascertain which Dojutsu abilities they possess. Moreover, the presence of multiple Otsutsuki means that the creators can introduce additional unique Dojutsu and subsequently integrate them into the storyline in a meaningful way.
Below are 3 newly introduced Dojutsu in Boruto:
Jougan – Pure Eye
Jougan is a very unique Dojutsu, utilized by Uzumaki Boruto, the main character of the story. Boruto has demonstrated this powerful ability right from the first chapter of the manga, although at that time, it was mistaken for the Byakugan.
Later on, when the anime adaptation began, this eye was named Jougan. Its strength has been gradually revealed, allowing Boruto to perceive chakra pathways and, most importantly, to highlight crucial elements of the future, enabling its user to launch precise attacks against them.
Additionally, this eye possesses the ability to sense negative emotions, making its strength comparable to that of the Sharingan.
Kokugan – Black Eye
Kokugan is utilized by two characters, first by Otsutsuki Isshiki and later by Kawaki through Karma. Kokugan manifests as a black pupil surrounded by a bright yellow ring when activated, with a wheel-like pattern resembling a black wheel with eight spokes radiating from the center. The area between the spokes is yellow.
Kokugan allows Isshiki to employ two unique techniques known as Sukunahikona and Daikokuten. Both of these Jutsu are extraordinarily powerful. In simple terms, Sukunahikona enables the user to shrink their own body and any object within a certain range to a minuscule size instantly, and it can also revert them back to their original size.
Daikokuten allows the user to store anything they shrink with Sukunahikona in a dimension where time does not flow. Isshiki can even hide himself within this dimension and attack from there.
Unfortunately, Isshiki has died in Boruto, and his powers have been inherited by Kawaki. After the time skip, it appears that Kawaki has fully gained control over this eye.
Senrigan
Senrigan pertains to Otsutsuki Shibai but is currently associated with Eida, who possesses Shibai’s DNA. With the strength of Senrigan, Eida can see and hear everything that happens in real-time. Her awareness extends everywhere, even into hidden corners, making her quite dangerous.
In simpler terms, Senrigan is a type of sensory ability that allows Eida to be aware of her surroundings at all times. Essentially, it operates like a surveillance camera system.
Thus, Eida is the most skilled surveillance ninja, as her ability allows her to be acutely aware of her surroundings. Eida also has access to information in both the present and the past. When combined with the formidable powers of her entire ancestry, which she inherited from Shibai, it creates an extraordinarily powerful synergy.
