A major announcement recently confirmed that the popular anime adaptation of “Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)” will be returning for a second season, which is currently in production. This announcement also indicates that CloverWorks will continue to produce the second season for the anime adaptations of “Bocchi the Rock!” and “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling)”, following the conclusion of “Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi (The Elusive Samurai)”.

Regarding Sousou no Frieren, creators Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe began publishing the manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020, and it continues to receive regular releases. The anime adaptation produced by Madhouse is set to air in Fall 2023 (from October to December) with a total of 28 episodes planned, which has already garnered significant anticipation.
This March, the official website for the anime Sousou no Frieren announced: “The journey to Ende continues,” hinting at the confirmation of a sequel.

As for Bocchi the Rock!, Aki Hamaji began publishing the manga in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in December 2017. The anime adaptation, consisting of 12 episodes, was produced by CloverWorks and aired in Fall 2022 (from October to December) in Japan.
The anime adaptation has received overwhelming support from fans, making Bocchi The Rock one of the most successful anime series of the year.
Following this, two compilation films are set to be produced, scheduled for release in June 2024 and August 2024 in theaters across Japan.

The anime adaptation of My Dress-Up Darling premiered in Winter 2022 (from January to March), consisting of 12 episodes, and received highly positive reviews, reaching a level of popularity that can be described as a “phenomenon” within the anime community that year. Creator Shinichi Fukuda began publishing the manga in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine starting in January 2018. The sequel to the anime adaptation is currently in production.
As for the production of My Dress-Up Darling part 2, it seems that the storyline will continue seamlessly from the first part. Wakana will be collaborating with Marin on new cosplay projects and will further develop their relationships with friends around them.
