Fans Show No Restraint with Generous Donations to Their Favorite Streamers
The wealthy male fans of popular streamers often go all out, spending large sums of money to secure a spot on the list of top donors. As a result, the identities of these fans typically become known to the female streamers. Many men also use this tactic in hopes of gaining the attention of the streamer they admire, and Ly Mo is often seen as a “sugar daddy” in this context.

A male fan named Ly tried to win the heart of a popular streamer by continually sending gifts, but he was ultimately rejected. From that point on, he no longer kept a low profile. Consequently, despite intending to donate 50,000 VND (approximately 175 USD) to the streamer, he decided against it, citing her lack of commitment to her work and the perception that she was ungrateful for his support. When he felt disrespected, he firmly decided to “stop being a benefactor.”
The “Money Pouring” Culture Can Lead to Frustration for Female Streamers
After numerous requests from female streamers asking him to send “gifts,” and receiving no results, the female streamer sought legal action to resolve the issue. Specifically, she filed a complaint with the court, demanding that her male fan fulfill his commitments or face compensation for damages. The reason she provided was that the male fan not only violated the implicit agreement but also caused her emotional distress, especially when he publicly disclosed information about the money involved and created a negative reputation within the community.
Based on the evidence recorded during the streaming session, the court concluded that the female streamer had indeed fulfilled her obligations according to the agreement, providing live broadcasts through various streaming platforms. Male fans can also suffer emotional distress when evaluating the performance of the streamer and typically choose to send “gifts” during live streams, which serve as a recognition of the achievements of the female streamer.
A type of service contract is formed between the two parties, which does not violate any legal regulations, does not disrupt public order, and adheres to ethical standards, thus making it a legal and valuable contract. Consequently, Ly is required to pay the female streamer 50,000 VND within five days.

This case serves as a crucial lesson for wealthy fans regarding the potential consequences of their actions. Specifically, with large sums of money involved, streamers should also protect their rights and not allow themselves to be exploited by fleeting emotional whims. However, it is not uncommon for individuals to find themselves in complicated situations during live streams, where the “money pouring” phenomenon is not rare. Therefore, both parties must exercise caution when establishing financial commitments in social media environments.
