Conversely, some fans are skeptical about this idea, as the original work by Studio Bones stands out distinctly in terms of its visual style. “I don’t think there’s any current studio that can compete with Soul Eater. The animation is unique and has a high-quality standard,” one fan mentioned.
Another viewpoint suggests that the sequel to the anime series would be a better choice. “To be honest, if they were to do this, I would want them to create something like Blue Exorcist and Black Butler did, but the essential elements haven’t been established yet to continue from where it left off. I know it’s tough to make everything clear for newcomers, but I really can’t see any other way to completely remake it without it being significantly worse,” another commenter added.
Fans of Soul Eater have varying opinions, but the idea of a brand new anime installment is not entirely off the table. For instance, Bleach made a comeback with the anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War in 2022, a decade after the original anime concluded. By this logic, 16 years or more downtime for Soul Eater wouldn’t be too far-fetched.
