Although My Hero Academia concluded in August, the fandom remains actively engaged more than ever. Horikoshi Kohei and his team have been busy announcing new projects related to the series. In December 2024, My Hero Academia Volume 42 will be released. As this is the final volume, the author, Horikoshi, has added over 30 new pages, expanding on the conclusion significantly.
Recently, the official website of My Hero Academia announced the results of the “Most Loved Hero in the World” popularity poll. The poll garnered an impressive response with over 6 million votes cast.
My Hero Academia’s Most Loved Hero
The official website revealed the top 100 characters based on the votes received. Each character’s ranking was determined by the number of votes they received.
The winner of the poll is Katsuki Bakugo, with over 1.6 million votes. The main character, Izuku Midoriya, came in second with 1.2 million votes, while Shoto Todoroki ranked third with over 630,000 votes.

While Deku is undoubtedly the main character of My Hero Academia, he has not always been the most beloved character. Bakugo, Deku’s rival, although often portrayed as a villain in the story, has become the fan favorite outside the narrative.
Initially, Bakugo was a bully towards Deku, but something about Bakugo’s character attracted many fans. Despite his tough exterior, he is relentless in his pursuit of becoming a hero.
As Deku continues to grow stronger and utilize One For All more effectively, Bakugo observes from the sidelines, envious of his rival’s progress. This dynamic has created a complex rivalry that is one of the most compelling aspects of Shonen Jump. This is precisely what has transformed Bakugo from a hated character into one that fans have come to admire.
